DHS DEPORTING IMMIGRANTS TO ARBITRARY COUNTRIES

Immigrants have filed a class action lawsuit in a Massachusetts federal court, with the purpose of challenging the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policy of deporting noncitizens without warning. This lawsuit alleges that immigrants seeking asylum are being removed to third countries, where they have no legal status or connection, in violation of their rights.
The plaintiffs claim they were not given proper notice before removal, despite expressing fear of persecution, torture, or even death in their home countries. They argue that DHS is violating due process laws by failing to notify them and denying them a fair chance to present their asylum claims before deportation.
The lawsuit also names DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, and an administrator of a Massachusetts detention facility as defendants. The plaintiffs argue that DHS’s lack of a clear policy leads to people being deported to random "third countries"—such as Mexico—where they are vulnerable to violence and persecution.
The case, D.V.D. et al. v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security et al., is currently pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
